Folded Blade

If you go as far west as it’s possible to go when you reach the rocky cliffs of Western Larana you’ll find a small encampment of Celestials and humans. Here, the large open-aired  building is protected by a cover of seal pelts and surrounded by large man high walls and the whole area rings with the sounds of training. Each person that comes to train must first earn their blade only made by Aaron himself and for each person that trial is different. The training is difficult and sharpens not just the body but also the soul. Those trained here focus on the utter defeat of the demon army at any cost. The Celestials who teach here speak of the day that Harmony will be reached and the world will know peace but until that time those willing must take up their blades and sacrifice whatever is necessary to make sure the day eventually comes.

Required Fighting Style: Folded Blades fight with Bastard Weapon and may use Light or Medium Armor. A Folded Blade cannot use their Fighting Style abilities while using any other weapon, using any Shield, or wearing Heavy Armor or Encased Armor.

Prerequisites: All Brutality Tier 1 abilities (Passive, Per Combat, Per Reset) or All Empathy Tier 1 abilities (Passive, Per Combat, Per Reset), Bastard Weapon, No Shield, Light or Medium Armor Only.

Sting of the Wasp

Cost: 6 XP

The character may, once per combat, use a single Per Combat ability from a Combat Trait as a Flurry 2.

Flashing Steel

Cost: 6 XP

The character may, once per combat, use a Flurry 3 Spellstrike Spirit Awaken effect. The Awaken effect removes all mental effects from the target character. See the Effects List for more information.

The Lotus Drops

Cost: 6 XP

The character may, once per combat, use a Spellstrike Spirit Trance effect. The Trance effect renders the target incapable of taking any direct action including movement for the duration of the effect and lasts for 1 minute or until the target is struck by a hostile attack. The start of a Killing Blow (“Killing Blow 1″) ends the effect.  This is a Mental Effect. See the Effects List for more information.

Aura Touched Blade

Cost: 6 XP

The character may spend a Transfer Wound effect to Reduce a Break or Destroy effect to 1 point of damage taken to the location struck. In addition, the character may spend a Heal Self effect of any value to instead use a Repair effect on their weapon.

Prerequisites: All Brutality Tier 2 abilities (Passive, Per Combat, Per Reset) or All Empathy Tier 2 abilities (Passive, Per Combat, Per Reset), any 2 Apprentice abilities

Way of the Crane

Cost: 8 XP

The character may, once per combat, use two Per Combat abilities of the same Tier from a Combat Trait to instead use that ability as a Flurry 3.

Way of the Phoenix

The character may, at will, spend any Parry ability to instead use a Spell Flux ability. See the Effects List for more information.

The character may, once per combat, spend any Lesser Defense to instead call “True” on an attack. This counts as a use of a Lesser Defense. See the Effects List for more information.

Way of the Crab

Cost: 8 XP

The character may use a Rapid Spirit Shell effect upon themselves, once per combat, with a value equal to 1 plus the number of Transfer Wound effects the character has used in this combat. A Rapid effect will require only 30 seconds of concentration to apply, rather than 1 minute. A Shell effect provides for damage absorption up to a certain value. The Shell is reduced in value by one point for every point of damage taken. This lasts until sunrise or until all points from the shell are exhausted. Players may not have more than one Shell active at a time. Shell does not work against Missile or Barrage. See the Effects list for more information.

Avalanche of Steel

Cost: 10 XP

The character may, once per combat, use three Per Combat abilities of the same Tier from a Combat Trait to instead use that ability as a Flurry 5.

Slash of the Void

Cost: 10 XP

The character may, once per combat, use a Spellstrike Spirit Drain Magic. Characters under a Drain effect lose all access to skills or abilities associated with Magic. Drain effects last until a full combat reset or until the drain effect is removed by some other effect. Once the Drain effect ends suppressed abilities are restored to their previous state. Aura Enhanced Blade

Cost: 10 XP

The character may, at will, add one damage to attacks with a Bastard Weapon, so long as the weapon is held in two hands. In addition, the character may call “Spirit” damage as desired.

Three Fold Retribution

Cost: 10 XP

The character may, once per combat, use a Flurry 3 Spellstrike Shard effect, with a value equal to 1 plus the number of Transfer Wound effects the character has used in this combat.
