Magic Traditions, Spell Names

Building out categories in the wiki and need unique but concise names for each of the sub-categories magical school's "spells".  Can't use the name of the school, since those are already in use as categories of the practitioners.  Can't duplicate category names. Some are easy, others are duplicated.  Suggestions/confirmation?

  • Druid Spells: Sachets?
  • Relic Warden "Spells:  Relics
  • Sage Spells: Legends?
  • Shaman Spells:  Runes?
  • Sorcerer Spells:  Spells (also used by Wizards)
  • Warlock Spells:  Powers
  • Witch Spells: Rituals?
  • Wizard Spells: Spells (also used by Sorcerers)

Thanks!

Maybe "Sagas" for Sages?

Tempting to go with Warlock Pacts

There are very few solid answers to this and that is by design.  Magic as it was before the Exile is not exactly the same as it is right now.  Players have the chance to change aspects of thematics, terminology, and even mechanics to some extent for each type of magic.  You can use the same terminology from before or decide to change is as you see fit.    Here is a quick snapshot of what has been generally presented so far.

  • Druid Spells: Druids use a special type of limited focus called a Sachet (Sa-chit) to cast their magic which is commonly called a spells and boons.  Druids use an "On The Fly" casting system.  Druid Magic is called "Mana".
  • Relic Wardens:  Wardens use special types of limited foci called relics to cast their magics.  Their activated magics are commonly called spells.  Relic Wardens use  an "On The Fly" casting system.  Relic Warden Magic is called "Fatigue".
  • Sage Spells: Sages use special types of limited Foci which are the physical poems they read.  Their activated magic could be called chants, spells, poems, verse, or anything in that area.  They use  an "On The Fly" casting system.  Sage magic is called "Intent".
  • Shaman Spells:  Shaman's use a special type of limited focus which is their staff.  Their activated magics are called Runes.  They prepare/pre-cast all spells in advance.  Shaman Magic is called "Activations"
  • Sorcerer Spells:  Sorcerers use general foci that is always something of personal importance.  Their activated magic could be called spells but could also be equations or anything else that is appropriately mathematical.  They prepare/pre-cast all spells in advance.  Sorcerer Magic is called "Dweomer"
  • Warlock Spells:  Warlocks do not have a focus.  They do however have a Scar, Pact, or Mark that must be physically cut open to cast magic.  The activated magic of Warlocks are typically called Powers.  They use an "On the Fly" casting system.  Warlock magic is measured in Tolerance.
  • Witch Spells: Witches do not use a focus at all.  Instead they are the use verbals for each effect.  The activated magic of Witches is typically called Spells but could also be Blessings or Curses.  They use an "On the Fly" casting system.  Witches measure their magic in Motes.
  • Wizard Spells: Wizards general foci that is always something of personal importance.  Their activated magic could be called spells but could also be called Charges.  They prepare/pre-cast all spells in advance.

That is probably more than you were asking for but I hope it helps!
