Daniel Morgan Camp Information

Camp Daniel Morgan is one of two group camps at Hard Labor Creek State Park.  The Daniel Morgan portion of the camp is accessed by a gated private road opposite the main park's office road (Daniel Morgan Road).

5 Hard Labor Creek Rd, Rutledge, GA 30663

(706) 557-3001

The camp uses a mix of bunk and single beds in 8 camper cabins for a capacity of 8 people per cabin. Camp pads on spring mattresses, so please bring your own bedding and additional comforts for your personal needs.  The site sits on a peninsula at the northern end of Lake Rutledge, with docks, swimming beach (no lifeguard) and fishing for bass, brim, crappie, and catfish (fishing license required).

A dining hall / tavern is available with seating, kitchen and freezers.  Several small functional/staff buildings are also present, as well as an amphitheater and fire circle. Each cabin area has a bath house with two sides each.  The Recreation building on the map below appears decommissioned and inaccessible at this time.

A paved road terminates at a loading/unloading lot in front of the tavern, and per park staff, vehicles should avoid driving off-road to avoid damaging the grounds.  During event hours, a small parking lot is available for vehicles up the road from the Staff cabin.  This lot is small, so please park considerately. Additional parking is available alongside the site road.  Do not park on both sides of the road so park staff, emergency vehicles and other guests can come and go freely.

Georgia State Parks require a $5 parking fee (not included in event cost) available from the Park Office.
