Shell vs. Shard/Missle/Barrage

Shell Provides for damage absorption up to a certain value.  The point value of the Shell is the amount of damage that can be absorbed.  The Shell is reduced in value by one point for every point of damage taken.  This lasts until sunset or until all points from the shell are exhausted.  Players may not have more than one Shell active at a time.

Damage Effects Effect Description
Shard Packet delivered  damage  with a source.  This is called as “[source] Shard [damage number]”. This can be taken on armor, shields and Vigor.
Missle Packet delivered automatic Wound to location hit. This bypasses armor, shields, and Vigor.
Barrage Packet delivered Wound to every location.

Does Shard can be take on Shell, up to the Shell's point value? Can Shell absorb, up to its point value, Shell, Missile and Barrage? In the case of Barrage, does Shell stop up to it's point value, example Shell 3 stops three locations being hit thus allowing 2 locations being hit provided nothing else is there to stop it?

Will clean this up, First of all Shell Last till sunrise not sunset 🙂 ,

1) Shell does not work against Missile or Barrage. However shell does reduce any damage coming in from Shards that it can. ( So if your hit for a shard 5 with a shell 4 on it would stop 4 points of that damage provided you didn't take any of that on armor )

Missile/Barrage bypasses Shell. Got it. Thank you for the clarification.

Question about spell flux; if this is used against a barrage does it reduce damage to one to each location or to one and just one location?

Spell Flux reduces the effect of ANY 1 spell that hits you to a Shard 1 of the same type to the same location struck. So if you are hit with a Fire Barrage on the arm, and you call spell flux you instead take a Fire Shard 1 to that same location. If you have skin/armor/ or other protective that can stop a fire shard 1 they can still be used after spell flux reduce the effect.
